1SE: January 2020

January is officially OVERRRRRR!

Which means that it's time to recap our month here with a nice little one second everyday recap!  2020 is my third year doing this project and I just ADORE reliving every month with one second a day snippets.

I cannot believe January is over -- everyone complains how long this month seems but it has FLOWN BY for us!  Seriously, so much happened in such a short amount of time it seems!

And, while I've got you here, I thought I'd briefly share about my 366 project for 2020 -- my FIFTH (what?!??!) year doing a year long project! CRAZY!!  This is what I posted on January 1st to introduce it:

This year, my fifth year doing a one photo a day project, I decided not to go with an edit type, but instead a theme for my photos. 2020 will be a year of gratefulness for me. Sometimes I feel like I am consumed by what’s wrong with a given situation instead of being grateful for what is right. Clark’s legacy continues to teach me things, and one thing he’s taught me is to be grateful...however big or small. I’m so grateful for the time we had with him, and for the things that keep that memory of him living on and shining bright as we move farther away from his birth date yet closer to seeing him again.

So here's my fun little collage for the first 31 days of 2020...and if you'd like to read up on what I'm grateful for each day, check out all of my posts here #mooneygrateful366

Until February my friends, adios!

Annie at 3 Years Old

I cannot believe it.  I seriously feel like I just wrote this post and BAM!  Here we are celebrating Annie turning THREE!! AHHH! I cannot believe it!

She has grown up SO MUCH in the past few months it seems -- and I'm sure being a big sister to a brother earth side has a large part to do with that.  But I really cannot believe she's THREE.  I feel like we just were telling people she was here and now here we are THREE YEARS LATER celebrating #3 for her! CRAZY!

Keeping with tradition I drug her outside for a few birthday snaps to celebrate her turning THREE!  Her current obsession is The Wizard of Oz so found it fitting to put her in this outfit for her little three year old photoshoot.

We celebrated her birthday this past Sunday and she had a wonderful time with her aunts and uncles and cousins celebrating her upcoming third birthday!

We don't go for her three year checkup until next week, so here are some mom stats for ya...
  • Annie weighs 32 pounds -- she is our petite little lady!  I think she's right at 36 inches or so tall too...we'll find out at her checkup next week!
  • Annie wears some 2T and mostly 3T clothes (although some 3T are still a bit big for her!) -- she is definitely our little lady!  The first of our kiddos to actually wear the size clothes that matches their age! HAHA!  I'll be curious to see how her growth goes this next year if she stays on the petite side.
  • Girlfriend is a talker!  Her verbal skills are amazing and she is so so so good at communicating exactly what she wants!  Her speech has really blossomed in the past year and some days I think she talks better than her older siblings! HAHA!  She is not shy about letting you know what she wants and how she feels.
  • At the end of last year Annie potty trained and it's been smooth sailing ever since!  She is so good about going #1 and #2 on the potty and always self-initiates it.  We remind her to go when she gets up in the morning and before nap and bed, but otherwise she's 100% in control when she's gotta go.  She naps in undies but still wears a pull-up overnight as she's wet sometimes in the mornings (which that'll click eventually for no hurry to push nighttime training).
  • Is absolutely obsessed with the Wizard of Oz!  Her 3rd birthday party this past weekend was Wizard of Oz themed and she got oodles of fun Wizard of Oz things!  She watches it over and over on her iPad and always asks to watch it on the big TV before bed.  She looooves it!
  • Aside from the Wizard, she loves Calico Critters, Peppa Pig, princesses, mermaids, playing with her doll house, and all of her other little toys she loves to hoard (much like her big sister Rosie does too!).  Annie loves to play dress up and wear her princess dresses and her dress up high heel shoes anytime she gets the chance!
  • Purple Bunny is her bestie and she cannot sleep (nor go most places!) without him!  He's definitely weathered and worn (and we do have a backup but she knows the difference! ick!) and we've misplaced him a few times but he always turns back up thankfully.  We try to give him a bath as much as possible because Annie does love up on him A LOT. haha!
  • Is an absolute whiz on her iPad!  Loves to watch YouTube kids and her other shows and plays games on it too.  Is a pretty good picture-taker too (with her @snapsbyAnniemooney instagram account too!).
  • Started school in the fall and really likes it!  Some days she cries and says she doesn't want to go, but is always so happy once she gets there and IS IN THERE and is so excited when we pick her up with what a great day she had.  She adores her teacher Miss Alison and loves seeing her as soon as she gets there.  Next year she'll be in the 3s program over at the ECC and going 3 full days a week -- we can't wait for her to enjoy her new school!
  • Started dance in the fall with Rosie and absolutely LOVES it.  It's their favorite night of the week and Annie loves putting on her ballerina outfit and dancing with her friends!
  • Shares a room with Rosie and sleeps on the bottom bunk of their bunk beds.  Most nights it takes them a bit to go to bed because they giggle and talk and play and I'm sure this is just a precursor to how their teenage years will go -- hopefully with lots of laughs and giggles and far less fighting.
  • FINALLY is so good about cooperating for pictures and not screaming and crying that she doesn't want to do them.  That only took me 3 years to get her to do.  Haha!  Is definitely still bribable but I have to resort to bribing her farrrrrr less than I have in the past.
  • Has an iron-clad memory and does not forget ANYTHING.  You promise her a snack when we get home?!  You best remember it...otherwise she'll remind you a million times until you give it to her!
  • Truly loves to pick out her own clothes and shoes -- and get dressed herself!  A lot of times she puts her stuff on backwards but, I will say, it's wonderful that she actually GETS DRESSED on her own and is so independent with things.
  • Absolutely loves her aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents SO SO SO much.  She lights up whenever they come in the room -- or if we meet them out and about for dinner -- and is just so smitten with them!  They are truly her favorite people.
  • She loves to have sleepovers at KiKi's, NeeNee's, and grandma's houses!  She is so good sleeping wherever is needed and just loves the adventures she has when she's out of the house.
  • She has the absolute best side eye and facial expressions EVER!  She cracks me up with her faces and such that she makes and it's such a gem to capture them on camera when they happen too!
  • Has a few nicknames: Annie Banannie, Annie Girl, Ann (she hates when we call her her actual name! haha!) -- but truly, her favorite name to be called is Annie.
Wow.  Annie girl!  What a joy you are to be around!  We cannot imagine our family without you and your spunky personality.  You make us laugh every single day with the things you say and come up with and we cannot wait to see what this year has in store for you!  Here's to an amazing fourth trip around the sun big girl -- we love you so much!

Police Bros

First off, I want to note with these pics that I DELETED THEM OFF OF MY CARD.

Yes, you read that I took them the other afternoon and what I usually anytime I take pics, either professionally for my clients or personally, is when I get home I immediately take the SD card out of my camera and import my photos onto my computer and backup on my external harddrive.  Then I don't reformat that SD card until those photos are edited, delivered, and backed up again.

Welpppppp, the other afternoon after I took these pictures I set my camera down and went to feed Teddy and totally forgot I took them (proof that children have fried my brain).  Then when I picked my camera up to take some pics of Teddy, I instinctually reformatted the card that was in my camera and immediately realized OH MY GAWD I NEVER IMPORTED THE PICS I JUST DELETED! AHHHH!

Even though my stomach sank I was so glad I did this with personal photos and not client photos...which God forbid will hopefully never happen!

Anyways, I found a recovery program online and was able to get them back so whewwwww!  Crisis averted!  And now I can share them with you all!

So Mike got home from court and had his uniform and Patrick put his on and I found the police onesie from when Patrick was a baby and popped Teddy in it and volia!  Police Mooneys!

It was like 30 degrees out and Ted was cold so he went inside (haha Mike put him in his seat inside) and then we snapped a few others of Patrick and Mike.

Anyways, just though these police bro pics were super cute and had to share!  I'll be shocked if P doesn't go into law enforcement -- he seems like that's the route he's going to go.  Or maybe military police...combine his new loves right now! HAHA!  Ohhh, only time will tell!

Mini Mooneys

Teddy got the cutest new rainbow pair of jammies (from Posh Peanut, for you inquiring minds ;-) and I just had to get a few snaps of him wearing them!

Welp, as I was snapping his pics, in walks Rosie wanting to give Teddy some lovin' and kisses. MMMMMKAY.  I'll continue snapping...

Well then all of a sudden the other two come soiree-ing in too and all of a sudden an impromptu photo shoot was happening!  They were all laying on the floor and I told them to put their heads in a circle around Teddy and BAM!  Here's the gems we got...and now I am totally swooning over them and wanting to go get ALL OF THEM PRINTED ASAP! haha!

Goodness I love these little mini Mooneys of mine so much!  Especially when little impromptu photo shoots like this happen.  Forever grateful for these kiddos of mine.

Timehop this morning reminded me of this post I shared exactly a year ago...3 months after Clark's birth, which makes it 15 months today.

And as I read through my post from a year ago as I was sitting snuggling with Teddy, I did a bit of reflecting.

Just looking back at the past year and where I am today.  And I thought, "Man.  This is the most perfect post for my grateful project." -- which, side note, I am really enjoying.  It it forcing me to look at something -- a different something! -- sometimes big, sometimes small, every single day and do a bit of reflecting on it to really look at the things I have in my life that I'm grateful for.  I'm sure days will be challenging not to repeat anything, but it does really force me to be grateful for the little things that I think sometimes go unnoticed in the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Anyways, I waned to share what I had posted for my #MooneyGrateful366 project today because I feel like, 15 months later, I needed to share it here on my blog too.

Timehop reminded me today that a year ago we were three months out from Clark’s birth. Not a minute goes by that little boy isn’t at the forefront of my mind...and every day he sends different little reminders of what he’s given us. Today, 15 months after we had to say goodbye, I’m sitting here snuggling the most perfect little rainbow and I’m so grateful for that — that his big brother hand-picked him for us and that today, the 29th of the month, I get to spend my afternoon snuggling him as he sleeps away in my arms. Clark’s story ignited a chain of life events (quitting my teaching job and working for myself being a big one) and today this is where I am. And I love it. And I’m so grateful for that little boy of ours who helped me get right here. Because if I can’t snuggle him, I take comfort in him watching over us as I snuggle his little brother 💙🌈

It's happened.

Today I sent off my 20,000th ounce of breast milk.

And I figured these little milestone deserved its own post and pictures :)

I posted the below text on social media this morning and found it fitting to share here too...I have no clue how much more milk I'll donate before my pumping time is up, but this milestone seemed like it needed to be celebrated!

Today was a big day for me: I sent off my 20,000th ounce of breastmilk!  A little over 156 gallons donated since I had Patrick and started milk sharing back in 2013.  My OCD has kept tabs on every single ounce that was pumped and left my house en route to another babe, and about a month ago I tallied up my donations and realized I was supppppper close to 20,000…something I never ever thought I’d get close to hitting.

I’ve donated milk with all 5 of my babies, including over 1000 ounces in the couple months I pumped after Clark was born 💙 It’s been a labor of love — with lots of clogged ducts and accessorie$ purchased and so much lost sleep — but one that has been SO WORTH IT (and will continue to be worth it as milk monster Teddy probably won’t let me stop being his dairy cow anytime soon 😆).  The families I’ve met through milk sharing and even friendships that have developed because of it has just been amazing, and I’m so happy that our paths have crossed over something as simple as milk.

Teddy helped me gather some of my milk tools and gear (and the most perfect onesie, thank you Laura!!) to take this pic to celebrate 20k! 🎉🍼 A lot of days I have wanted to smash those pumps, but today I’ll celebrate them and all that they’ve helped me achieve.
