Rain Puddles

Earlier last week it POURED.  Like did not stop for a few hours.  Everything got canceled: the big kids' soccer practices and my photo shoot.

We were cooped up inside and Patrick kept asking if he could play in the rain.  Mike and I looked at each other and were like, "Why not?!?!?"  So, out they went!

They had a blast with their umbrellas and rain boots!  Although I think all of them at some point ditched them all!

I summoned my cabana boy and gave him a giant golf umbrella to hold over me while I got my big camera out and snapped pics of the kids having a blast!

Mike got soaked (took one for the team...true love right there!) but I stayed dry and was able to get these snaps in.

Anyways, riveting-ly exciting week over here!  I actually have been SO BUSY with photo shoots and births that I feel like my blogging has slacked (oops) but hopefully I'll get back on the blog train and be more consistent soon...maybe. Haha! Life is busy friends, but in a good good way :)

26 Weeks 🌈

26 weeks today!! Only 2 more weeks until the third trimester starts and I CANNOT BELIEVE IT.  We are 11 weeks away from meeting this kiddo and although my anxiety is there...always...I am getting more and more excited.  And letting myself buy a few things too.

I had a great appointment with Dr. Jen this past week...Annie tagged along with me too and she LOVED seeing her just born pic on the wall! She's like THAT'S ME!!!  This kid was moving up a storm -- literally kicked Dr. Jen's doppler -- and still no edema or fluid anywhere it shouldn't be.  Such great news.

Annie couldn't stop winking at Dr. Jen too which was HILARIOUS cause she did it the entire rest of the day as well!!

Seriously guys.  Only 11 (hopefully short!!) weeks to go!! I will say this past week I’ve allowed myself to get a tad bit more excited — ordering a cute rainbow swaddle and knotted hat that I think I’ll put this kiddo in to announce his/her arrival (probably like 10 seconds after I roll out of the OR cause I know FOMO on social media is real with you all 😉).  However, little things seem to trigger me too and set off my anxiety into an overdrive of DID THIS KID MOVE RECENTLY?! WHY AREN’T I FEELING ANYTHING RIGHT NOW??!?!  This weekend it was Kenny Chesney’s “Who You’d Be Today” song that came on the radio.  Man, I love that song, but holy cats were the tears flowing really listening to those lyrics and feeling them so deep in my soul with Clark.  Grief is funny — and has no rhyme or reason as to when it will creep up.  Because right before that song came on I was sitting in my garage placing an order for “Hello My Name Is” name tags (that I stock for my Fresh 48 clients but I also need one soon too!) and BAM. It hit me. Gah. Pregnancy after loss is the most difficult ride I’ve been on, but having such a great support network and even my little square of the internet here to share on really REALLY has helped.  So here’s to having listened to me digress the past 6ish months and the next 2.5 months to come! Until week 27 friends!

Last Days of Summer

This post is a whittle delayed as school has already started but SUE ME it's been a busy freaking week (so many photo shoots!!!) and I'm just getting around to blogging about our last days of summer before school started!

The kids started school midweek, so we had a few days of final fun (Mike was snoozing and/or working overtime so it was just me and the kiddos) and we decided to hit up the Zoo and our friend's pool one last time before school was officially underway.

First up for our family fun: the Zoo!

Now Mike actually was working overtime THEN had to go to court, so it worked out that we were able to do the Zoo for a few hours then come meet him!

The kids were AWESOME.  Truly.  I kept texting Mike how good they were being!

And Patrick clearly is a lover: he wasn't fazed at all by the goat incident of 2015. haha!!

Always look for an excuse to toss in ^^^ that video. HAHA!

Patrick asked for my phone at one point and snapped this lovely gem.

We did a TON: rode the train (kids got to yell "ALL ABOARD!" too!), saw the penguins, flamingos, monkeys, polar bears, rode the carousel, went to the children's zoo...

...all before leaving by 11 to go surprise the kids and meet dad for lunch!

They loved seeing daddy's police van and seeing him in his police 'costume' (as Rosie calls it. haha!).

We went to Biggies for lunch and about 9??? years ago Mike and I went there and totally popped a pic of Scoots on the wall and IT IS STILL THERE!  So cool!

Our last summer fun day was literally the day before school started: we got invited to our friend's house for an end of summer pool party!

The kids had SO MUCH FUN with their buddies -- and loved the special treats of sno cones in the pool!

All in all, we had such an awesome summer together and although I am a little sad to see it go, I really am not because that means it's time for fall and time for #5 to get here!! 11 weeks from tomorrow (but who's counting?!?!) and I CANNOT WAIT!  Excited to see what summer 2020 looks like too :)
