Halloween 2017

You know I love me some traditions!

Check out 2014, 2015, and 2016's posts for a walk down memory lane if you'd like.

But I've got for you 2017's Halloween blog post on this final day of October!  I should be going to bed BUT of course instead I'm bloggity blogging for you all about our Halloween adventures this year.

I had to immediately throw ^^^ this gem at you.  Golly, aren't they the cutest??!?!  We snapped a few quick backyard pics in their costumes before heading out for dinner and trick or treating.

And, duh, let's just toss this 2013 - 2017 comparison snap your way right now cause it is freaking adorable and I cannot believe this was Patrick's FIFTH Halloween!!  Gosh that went so quick.  I feel like he was just a little cop and now he's less than a year away from starting kindergarten! GAH!  Time, you are such a thief.

Anywayyyyssss.  Today was a good Halloween!  One for the books!  It started off with Annie's 9 month check-up and flu shots for the big kids and ended with everyone in a sugar coma!  Haha!

Honestly the day was uneventful; the kids didn't dress up for school (they did wear festive Halloween colors but that's it) but had a great time it seemed cause they both were chatty cathys when I picked them up!

We hustled home, I made a milk drop (up to 17,100oz lifetime donation!!) and then we saddled the kiddos up in their costumes for a few quick snaps before we kept with our yearly tradition of trick-or-treating with our buddies the Rosenbergers!

First off, can we all die laughing at Rosie's poses?!  Seriously, that girl KILLS ME!  And Annie is the cutest banana EVER.  And Patrick! GAH!  What a knight in shining armor indeed!  And my little bull Scoots.  Love this crew.

We then packed up and headed over to the Rosenbergers where we met the grandmas!  My mom and Robyn's mom were high school besties and college roomies and they had so much fun watching the babies for us while we took the big kids out to trick-or-treat!

Of course we had to get some group snaps...

Which I'm pretty freaking happy with how these pics turned out!

And that Patrick didn't drop Annie down the steps.  Haha!

Our crew grew by two from last year to this year!  So much fun.  I love our trick-or-treating tradition!!

It just so happened (seriously.  Total coincidence!) that Sheldon was a monkey and Annie was a banana and it was just perfect and I love the pics we got of them!  Just the cutest! I hope they grow up to be buddies just like their mamas!

I should note it was freaking freezing, like 40 degrees BEFORE the sun went down and yeah, COLD.  We trick or treated throughout the neighborhood but after a solid 60+ minutes we waved our white flags and called it a day and headed home.

The kids totally cleaned up with their trick or treating and got so much candy...a lot of which I'll be 'borrowing' for my own consumption reallll soon.

Anyways, it was a wonderful Halloween and I cannot wait to see what 2018 has in store for this crew!  Adios October, it's been real!  Now it's time to get in the turkey spirit and then soon after the Christmas one!!!

Annie's 9 Month Check-Up

Ahhhh, our little Annie Banannie is officially 9 months old (today!) and had her check-up at the doc's office this morning!

I actually brought ALL THREE KIDS with me for her checkup so they could get flu shots as well since we were going and, oh boy, what a treat that was to bring all of them before school...on Halloween no less!  HAHA!

Honestly it wasn't bad at all -- we were in and out in less than 20 minutes (which is a freaking record cause I swear even with just one kid we are in there at least 45 minutes!) and the big kids were shockingly really good for both their flu shots (just a few tears for Ro) and then during Annie's checkup.

So!  Annie Banannie at 9 months old.  Welp our little meatball is just that: short and fat!  Her weight is right where it's always been (big) but her length/height has kinda been declining since she was born.  She's only in the 46% this month for length!  Rosie at 9 months was an inch longer at 28.5" so not significantly bigger but yeah, Annie is still our little peanut.  The doc just mentioned that on that growth curve she's been declining, but we'll just see where she is at 12 months.  She didn't seem concerned and I'm not either because this kid is eating and drinking like a champ and hitting all of her milestones (minus moving, she doesn't crawl or really move right now but that's the same as Rosie did!) so I'm sure she's just gonna be a chunky short little thing for now and that is a'okay!  Other than that nothing else exciting to report other than she got her last Hep-B vaccine and first half of her flu shot (she'll get the other booster in a month).  So yay for vaccines, just like Rosie's shirt!

That's about all I've got for Annie's 9 month checkup...I cannot believe that the next scheduled time she'll be back at the doctor is AFTER she is ONE!  Where or where is the time going??!  Slow down please...it's going way too fast!!

Annie at 9 Months

WOW.  What a day to turn 9 months old!  Halloween, 38 weeks old, and 9 month checkup all on the same day!  Annie girl, these 9 months have been such a blessing having you in our fam bam!  I cannot believe you're 3/4ths of the way to ONE!

This is the month I started monthly blogging with Patrick...so at the end of this blog there are links to both Patrick and Rosie's 9 month riveting blog post for you to read...if you so choose :)

So Annie Banannie is 9 months AND 38 weeks old today.  Here's all of her weekly snaps in a nice little collage (thank you Photoshop!) for your viewing pleasure.

Annie is such a little meatball and growing more and more by the day!  I cannot believe 9 months have flown by with her in our family!  It feels like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital.

I have another post comin' for ya later today about her 9 month checkup (again, so riveting! I know!), but until then here's some fun mom stats to get you through.  Your favorite, huh?!!
  • Annie weighs 21 pounds even...we'll see how my scale measures up with the doc's scale!  I'm guessing she's about 27 or 28 inches long as well.  Still about 2lbs less than her siblings at this age.
  • Annie is in 9-12 and 12 month clothes (with a few 6-12 thrown in there too that run big).  She's shockingly not as gigantic as the other two were at this age and, I'll say it again, she's getting some serious wear out of clothes that the big kids blew through!
  • Not crawling, but can roll like a champ and scoot and bend and wiggle to get where she needs to go!  She's actually pretty good just sitting up and staying in relatively the same spot, but I think she'll probably be full-on crawling in another month or so.
  • Has two teeth on the bottom!  Uses those to eat anything she can get into her month, which is not limited to food but anything she finds on the ground.  Soooo, we've had to be really good about making sure anything around her and on the floor are her BIG toys and not Patrick's little legos or anything like that.
  • Graduated from the pumpkin/infant car seat to the convertible car seat and seems to really be loving it!  She was just getting too heavy to be carried in the infant one so we ditched that and BOOM.  Convertible car seat it is now for her and she seems to be happy as a little clam in it!
  • Still a very avid thumb sucker, but, much like her big sister, only does it when she's tired and/or in bed.  Doesn't have a lovie or anything that she's attached to (yet?!!) but definitely loves to suck her thumb (and it goes back and forth with which one she sucks!) whenever she is feeling sleepy.
  • Girlfriend still loves her mama's milk and prefers it straight from the source!  Ha!  She will nurse whenever I'm home, and then if not she takes anywhere from 10-16oz of breastmilk from a bottle while I'm away.  We've tried her on a sippy cup a few times and she's done great with that!  So hoping to to break the bottle by 10 or 11 months with her so we are bottle free by the time she gets to a year old (just like we did with the older two!).
  • Still a champion sleeper.  Like best kid yet!  Goes down around 7 or 7:30pm every night and then sleeps until 8/9am the next morning!  Takes one nap usually from 12:30/1pm to 3:30/4pm.  She's a rockstar sleeper and, just like every month, I hope it continues and I'm not jinxing it typing this!
  • LOVES food -- has tried so many different kinds of foods this month and really has seemed to like and eat everything that we put in front of her!  Definitely eats table food the most, and will eat baby food pouches here and there as well (especially when we're out and about and on the go!).  Really likes pancakes, bananas, animal crackers, gold fish, strawberries, yogurt, cottage cheese, apple sauce, cheese, chicken nuggets, pasta, and about a billion other things I can't think of right now!  Haha!
  • Still has a few nicknames, one being Annie Banannie which is the reason she is a banana for Halloween!  Sister bear, sissy, and what Rosie and Patrick call her mostly: Baby Annie.
  • Scooter is obsessed with Annie and cannot get enough lick kisses from her everyday!  It is the cutest little thing and I'm sure when he realizes she'll be mobile soon he'll retreat and not be smothering her with kisses anymore.
  • She is SO LOVED by her big brother and sister!  They love playing with her and holding her and kissing her!  They are so good and gentle with her and I know once she is up and moving they were be even more excited to actually be able to "play" with her!  She loves them too and lets out the biggest giggles and laughs whenever they are around!  It truly is the cutest thing EVER!
  • Annie is still so observant and loves watching all that is going on around her!  She definitely prefers to know what's going on and be looking all around and taking everything in.  She's also become interested in watching what's on TV and on Patrick and Rosie's iPad -- especially when Patrick turns Baby Einstein on for her!
Welp, that's about all I've got for 9 months with our little Annie!  Now here's your favorite: comparison pics!

And my personal favorite, all 3 bambinos at 9 months old!

And BONUS this month, since it all fell on the same day: 39 weeks/9 months in vs. 39 weeks/9 months out!  BOOM!

That's it until 10 months my friends!  And you can check out the other two's 9 month blog posts at the links below if your little heart yearns for some comparisons like mine does :)

DONUTSSSSS!!!

It's no secret 'round these parts I love me some donuts.

Like A LOT.

So when I saw this bad boy go up for sale I just HAD TO HAVE IT.  I mean, the girls both had matching ones and donut moccs and I had just gotten donut headbands for us three and of course my donut Tula, so this was a must.

Mike said he'd get it for me for Christmas but, duh, as soon as it came I wanted to wear it ASAP...so I did!  And boy, it's comfy, let me tell ya.

We had a Halloween party to go to last weekend and, duh, we were donuts!  I was so comfortable too so win win on that.

Anyways, ever since my donut jumper came I had been wanting to get a pic of all of us in our matching attire.  So on Sunday I decided to do it, butttttt, Mike was snoozing...so he was out as our photog.  However, I have another budding photographer in my house and BAM.  Done.  Patrick was ALLLLL about taking our pics.

See?!!  Armed and ready, strap doubled around him so he wouldn't drop my oh-so-expensive camera!  HAHA!

Anyways, I got the girls dressed and Scoots in my Tula and out we went for some donuty snaps and OHH MYY GOSHH, I freaking LOVE what Patrick captured and how these came out!  Yes, they all seem to have a light/sunspot on them but that just makes them even better in my opinion.  My 4 year old took them and they just look fabulous.  I am so incredibly biased though.

I mean, aren't those freaking adorable?!?  Hehehehe, we had so much fun.  And I had to bribe the heck out of Rosie to wear that outfit cause, you know, she's a die-hard dress lover these days.

Anyways, had to share some donuty fun on this Monday with you!!  Have a good one friends!!

Goose's 90th Birthday Photo Shoot

Tomorrow!!!  On October 29th, 2017 Goose is officially 90 years young!  I could go on and on about my favorite bird and what she means to me and my kiddos...seriously, she is incredible.  And all that she's seen and experienced and done in her life, it is truly monumental!  We love our Goose so much and I am so happy and it seriously makes my heart swell that my 3 little burritos have gotten to spend so much time with their great-grandma!

So a few weeks ago we did a 90th birthday photo shoot at the Pond.  I had this idea about 6 months ago to get big gold balloons, a feather boa, a tiara, 'champagne' (sparking grape juice), and a smash cake for her and do a 90th birthday shoot!  You see ones all of the time for 1 year olds...and now even turning 30 and 40, but you never see 90 year old ones!  Welp, I wanted to change that!

Now Goose was a TROOPER for her pics.  Seriously...she was SO GOOD!  Her hearing and eyes are definitely not what they use to be...and her mind gets a bit jumbled and jetted back in time, but on this day, this day she was loving her pictures and being fancied up and getting to eat cake!!!

Anyways, I had shared one teaser on social media and today, a day before her actual birthday (but at her birthday party where we had all of these pics printed on canvases and in a book and magnets for people to enjoy!), I am sharing ALL OF THEM for you!!  I hope you enjoy these...I sure did taking them!  What a milestone she reached -- I am so glad we have these pictures to look back on this time with her.

my favorite shot.  Ohhhhh if those wrinkles could talk!!!

Happy 90th birthday Goose!  We love you so much!!  You will always be our favorite bird!!!
