RIP Summer

Okay, I first have to reiterate my undying love for our new internet. GAME CHANGER.  I was soooo fed up with DirecTV cutting out when it was cloudy outside (not kidding) and it takeing 6+ hours to upload 800MB of photos, which then meant nothing else would connect to the internet cause that upload was using all of the speed and GAH.  I couldn't take it.  I upload SO MANY pics that I needed a faster internet, so we ditched DirecTV and AT&T internet and went with Charter and I could not be happier!  The internet is LIGHTNING fast -- like that once 6+ hour upload takes like 10 minutes now! WOOT! And it stormed the other night and our cable was still on no problem.  WONDERFUL!  Anyways, yay for modern technology and conveniences.

Okie dokie, so folks, today is my LAST day of summer...and we kicked it off in style with donuts.  Mike the donut fairy wins again! I feel like I've been off work for 6 months (even though I did go back for a few weeks in May, and taught summer school for 5 weeks in June) and tomorrow is gonna be a rude awakening for me that I have no foreseeable break in my near future (already starting to count down to Christmas! haha!) and full workin' days will be my norm now Monday through Friday.  UGH.  So much ugh.

I say this every year when I go back, especially after having a kiddo, how difficult it is to leave them and this year in no exception!  It's gonna be ROUGH.  However, I am happy the big kids get a couple weeks left to hang with dad and some family before they start school on the 16th and that Annie gets a lot of daddy time too.  It makes me happy and breathe easier that even though I'm back to work the kids are still at home with dad -- as difficult as his schedule is with him working nights, it's soooo nice knowing that he's home with them during the day!

So I'm trying not to be depressing Alex for this post because I am bummed I am back to work tomorrow BUT I want to celebrate how awesome this summer was and all of the cool things we got to do!  I feel so blessed to be a teacher who does get each summer off to hang with my own kiddos, so I'm trying to find the silver lining with that.

Hands-down the best part of summer was getting to spend it with these kiddos!  We had so much fun going to the park, pool, shopping adventures, to the Lake of the Ozarks and countless trips to KiKi's lake, and so much more!  These three light up my life and I've had a blast hanging with them all summer and playing so hard!  And it melts my heart how much they genuinely love each other and enjoy each other.  As a mama of more than one this is alllll that I could ask for!

Last week I had a twilight photoshoot and before my clients came Rosie wanted some pics in her sunnies so, duh, we stole away outside for a few quick snaps and she got to her posin' reallllll quick.  Gosh she KILLS me.  What's funny though is that she'll pose like this and be such a ham for the camera for me, but then if we go somewhere and someone 1. tries to talk to her 2. suggest she poses she LOSES HER SHIZ and wants nothing to do with that person and becomes a whiny stage 5 clinger and doesn't let me go.  So, that's fun!  Pics can be misleading, can't they?!! Haha!  Oh so curious how this little clinger is gonna do at preschool this year...hmmm...stay tuned for that!

So this cracked me up...all of Annie's puffs were mysteriously gone this weekend and Scooter couldn't have looked more guilty!  Even Annie knew he snatched them...I'm sure after she whacked her hands around and knocked them on the floor.

Girlfriend does have an undying love for her pup so I don't blame her for sharing her treats :)

Speaking of girlfriends, my friends Tiff and Lauren both have girls within a month or two of Rosie and we are always texting about how sassy and opinionated they are.  Lauren had won a giveaway and sent all of the BFFs (Rosie and Elsie) matching necklaces like Zoey had and we decided we finally needed to dress them similar and take a snap of them "talking on the phone to their besties" in our yards!  I am LOVINGGGG how these pics turned out!  These girls crack.me.up.  I hope one day we could get them all together to play soon! Gosh what a riot that would be!

Last night Annie and I went ^^^ here for a breastfeeding photoshoot with a bunch of other mamas in STL to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week (which is August 1st - 7th).  I cannot WAIT to see how these snaps turned out!

Annie was clearly THRILLED (she was!) for the shoot!  She was getting hangry towards the end while we were waiting for our turn for pics (duh. she was hungry and being DENIED!  Haha!) but otherwise she was so wonderful for pics.  I really cannot wait to see how they turned out!!  We didn't leave though until after 8pm which was past her bedtime and she proceeded to scream the entire 40 minute drive home.  Ekk.  Not like her.  But she did sleep in until 9:30am this morning so yay for that!  I'm sure I'll have a separate post with those pics once I get them back :)

Golly, what else has been going on these last few days of summer?!  Welp...

Annie got this Munch Mitt in her baby bundle this month and she is LOOOOOVING it.  So am I; I should order a few more!  I love how it comes with a bag and you can toss it in the washing machine and dryer to clean it.  Easy peasy.

The kids got a new grill -- actually my mom had bought this at a garage sale like 4 years ago for Patrick and put it in her attic and promptly forgot about it until just now...so Christmas came in July for the kiddos and they've been playing with it every since!  I went ahead and ordered some play utensils and such for it because they're currently using my real ones and I'm thinking that will just end bad. Haha!

We went to my cousin Abby and her hubby Stuart's housewarming party this weekend and everyone had a blast -- but from the looks of my camera roll you'd think only Rosie did!  Haha!  She was obsessed with her strawberry necklace and REAL strawberry she had too.  Gosh she cracks me up.

Okay!  So that's about it from me for this last day of summer...we celebrated with donuts for breakfast and MOD pizza for lunch, then who knows what for dinner (probably whatever I can throw together from the fridge) cause Mike is snoozing and I have a lot to get together for work tomorrow.

It really was a wonderful summer with my babes and I loooooved every crazy chaotic second of it watching them grow and learn and play and have a blast.  Oh, sweet summertime, I love you so!  Please don't take too long to get here 2018 edition...I gotta have something to look forward to!  And now that my summer is officially over: bring on fall! I am ready!

Have a great week friends!

14,000

Last week I sent off my 14,000th ounce of breast milk since I started donating about 4 years ago in the fall of 2013.  Oh boy did that feel good to do!  I try not to be too boastful and such about my milk sharing, but I also do want to celebrate this feat because I do think it is pretty cool how much I've been able to share over these years with other mamas out there looking for milk for their little ones!

I have seen some pics before about milk donation and I thought Annie would look so cute in her violet tank shorty (June & January, of course!) with some of her milk surrounding her for a snap to celebrate 14,000!  I've actually donated 4700 since March of this year, and I'm hoping to make it to 20,000 before I'm done pumping with Annie...we'll see if I get there!

Anyways, no other point to this post other than to YAY! be excited about sending off my 14,000th ounce of mama's milk (and yes, for those wondering, OCD Alex over here has a note in her phone with every donation, amount, and who it went to since 2013!).  Can't wait to see what that number is up to when I'm done pumping for good!  Haha! Stay tuned!

Annie at 6 Months

Seriously. Half.a.year.old.  I cannot believe!  It freaking flew by.  Not kidding.  I go back to work tomorrow (WAHHH) and really cannot believe that I'm writing this post because I feel like I just had her and now here I am writing about her half birthday and tomorrow she'll be closer to 1 than being born and omg my emotions are going crazy about that.  GAH!  Moving on.

Annie turns 26 weeks tomorrow, so here's her wonderful weeks 1 through 25 stats collage (which fit really nicely into a square! WOOT!) for her first 6 months of life.

Annie goes back next week for her 6 month checkup, so until then, you're left with my wonderfully riveting mom stats!
  • Annie is still our little peanut but steadily growing and gaining weight!  She weighs 18lbs 1ox and probably is about 27ish inches give or take.  She's about 2.5ish pounds smaller than the other two were at 6 months; both of them were right around 20 pounds.  However I think she'd still be around the 80th percentile for weight so definitely not petite by any doc's measuring!  Although we'll find out next week her official stats at her 6 month checkup.
  • Annie still is rockin' a lot of her 0/6 month June & January clothes -- a lot of them are oversized and she is still able to fit into them!  WOOT!  She does wear some 6/12 in J&J too on some of the things that run a bit truer to size.  In all other clothes she's in 6-9 months or 9 months...so not too much bigger than her actual age.
  • Ahhh, nicknames.  Obviously her real name is Ann and we don't ever call her that; she's usually just Annie.  Annie Banannie is another one (even Patrick calls her that!) and of course sissy and sister bear, just like we did (and still do!) call Rosie!
  • Still a freaking amazing sleeper.  She wins for best Mooney baby sleeper thus far.  No sleep regressions (knock on wood!) yet (hopefully ever!) and consistently sleeps 12-14 hours a night.  Goes down around 7-8pm and sleeps till usually 8-9am the next morning.  Amazing.
  • Takes one nap a day usually from 12:30/1pm until 3:30/4pm.  Some days she wakes up after 2.5 hours or so, but usually takes a solid 3+ hour siesta in the afternoon.  She goes down wide awake for naps and bed and I literally never hear a peep out of her; she's a master self-soother and just falls asleep on her own!
  • Annie is a rolling over PRO!  She has mastered back to belly and usually flips to her belly ASAP when she's on her back (she prefers to snooze on her tummy now!), but hasn't quite mastered belly to back.  She CAN do it and has done it several times, but it's not as easy to do as back to belly is...and she gets frustrated easily and wants to be back on her back!  I'm sure she'll keep working on it!
  • She still is exclusively breastfeed.  I mean, she's tried puffs a couple times and I don't know if she's even gotten any down her gullet, but even so I don't count that as her first food.  I'm sure our ped will be pushing us to start solids ASAP next week 😕 and I just don't think she's ready...so we're still gonna wait a bit.  And I may just skip the baby food altogether and go straight to whatever we're eating cause it's easier and baby food is icky.  I do like the pouches though when we're out and about but other than that I'll just cut up what we're eating and she can have that...and if she doesn't fine.  She can still drink herself silly with milk.
  • Big milestones this month include consistently rolling over and moving (she can kick her feet and move herself all over the place; she is never in the same spot when I lay her down to sleep and when she gets up in the morning!) and lots and lots of chit chatting and babbling.  She makes these sounds that sound like a dinosaur and it's the funniest thing ever.  I'm wondering if she's gonna be a chatterbox like Rosie.
  • Not sitting up yet -- this is the ONLY milestone I'm in a big hurry for her to do because it makes things SO MUCH EASIER (and photos SO MUCH EASIER!!) when she can sit up by herself!  We're working on it and I'm hoping by 7 months I'm reporting she's a pro at it!  Both of the other 2 were sitting up on their own by 6 months so I'm hoping Annie isn't too far behind!
  • No toothers for this little lady yet, although I think they're coming?  Maybe?  She drools like CRAZY and I keep swearing I see 2 little teeth on the bottom but I don't feel anything yet so who freaking knows.  You'd think by the third kid I'd have this down pat and know what to look for but NOPE.
  • Annie LOVES her teether toys (monkey, banana, donut, and her recently discovered munch mitt) and her rattle stuffed elephant her godmama and aunt Erin got her when she was born.  She likes chewing on anything that she can put in her mouth!  She likes her sit me up chair and exersaucer but gets bored after a while and wants OUT.  Still loves to be held and cuddled whenever possible (don't we all?!).
  • I usually play on my iPhone when I'm feeding her and this past month I either cannot do it or have to do it slyly where she can't see it cause she will pull off my boob to stare at whatever is on my phone!  Girlfriend likes her tech toys I guess :)  She has this thing on the side of her crib and she is OBSESSED with it -- as soon as it comes on she turns her head and stares mesmerizingly at it.
  • Annie is totally the most chill, happy baby EVER.  She loves to smile at any and everything (especially her big bro and sis) and is so laid back and easy.  I feel like I'm gonna jinx things writing this but whatever, I have to document what this chick has been up to!  And really she is so happy and complacent and just awesome.  I cannot imagine life without her!
Now your favorite: comparison pics!

And lastly, my own my how Annie banannie has grown!

Well friends, that's it!  Next month we'll officially be on the downhill slope to ONE and I cannot believe it.  Hopefully time will slow down a bit (ha, yeah right) but regardless, we love you oh-so-much Annie girl!  We cannot imagine life without you!

365 Matte Project Update

I realized, besides sliding it into random posts here and there, I really haven't done a formal update on my 2017 matte project!  The horror!

Welp today is day 210 (and I haven't posted a pic yet cause it's like 7:30am and my usual subjects are snoozin' away) and I successfully am 209/209 for the year! WOOT!  I did forget ON PATRICK'S BIRTHDAY!!! to post a pic -- I mean, I had it "matted" and everything and just forgot to post it!  Gah!  I guess I was too wrapped up in his birthday festivities and thought I did?! Whatever.  I posted it the next day so crisis averted...but that's my only slip up.

You can check out all of my pics on Instagram here (under #MooneyMatte365) -- and I've picked out a few of my favorites below too...

I am really diggin' this matte look for 2017.  Quite different from my black and white look from 2016, but I really love the challenge and documentation that comes with posting one pic each day for this project.  Would you believe me if I told you I'm already starting to think about 2018's project?!  Of course not :) I'm elbow deep in these yearly projects that I feel like I can't stop now after doing 2!

Anyways, so yay, project is going great and I'm loooooving how these snaps are lookin'.  Excited to see what the last half (gah! We're already over halfway through with 2017!  Where does the time go?!!) of 2017 ends up with my mattes.

And thank you to my Photoshop tutorial for putting these 209 snaps into a nice little collage below for you to oogle at.

Have a great one friends!!
