Annie at 4 Months

I seriously cannot believe I'm typing this, but Annie girl is four whole months old today!

Annie is definitely out petite little thing...not too much bigger than she was at 3 months which is completely new territory for us seeing as Patrick and Rosie both grew exponentially fast and blew through clothing faster than I could buy bigger sizes!

Annie turned 17 weeks old yesterday and because of that my nice and neat 4x4 square collage got screwed up so I had to toss those 17 snaps into Photoshop to have it make a handy dandy collage for me.  I'm pretty proud I haven't missed a day yet or been late and my #52weeksofJandJ game is going strong.

We go back on Friday for Annie's 4 month checkup at the doc (where I know she'll tell us we can start food, and nope, girlfriend here is on the same timetable as Rosie and we won't be doing anything before 6 months...cause no way is she ready!) so until then you get my mom stats!  Lucky you!

  • Annie continues to be our little peanut and I kind of love it.  We are getting SO MUCH USE out of clothes that Rosie blew through and wore maybe once (even at all!).  Annie weighs 14lbs 14oz and I'm guessing is maybe 24 or 25 inches long.  She only gained 8 ounces since 3 months! WHAT!!
  • Girlfriend still wears 0-6 June & January clothes (depending on what it is some are a bit snug but still fit!) -- she's got a few 6-12 size and they fit but definitely are "big" and hopefully will fit better by the end of the summer.  In other brands she's in 3-6 month or 6 month size which pretty much is where a 4 month old should be!
  • Still an AMAZING sleeper.  Sleeps 12-14 hours a night...usually 13.5 to 14. It's AMAZING.  Goes down about 7:30 or 8pm and sleeps until anywhere between 8 - 9:30am the next morning.  I hope it keeps up forever and ever!
  • We recently started her on cloth at night -- since she is sleeping such long stretches at night she was frequently leaking out of the disposable she wore at we've given fitted cloth diapers (that Rosie used) + cover a go at night and thus far it's gone great!  WOOT!
  • Takes one nap a day -- since she sleeps in so late she's usually up for a good 3 hours before she needs to eat again and then passes out.  She usually eats around 12:30-1pm and then takes a 3-4 hour nap.  She definitely thrives on a schedule and routine and doesn't like it when we push or change it.
  • Has really started intentionally smiling a lot more this month and even some giggles!  It is the cutest thing EVER.  Her siblings can get her smiling and it's just adorable and makes my heart happy!  She has amazing resting bitch face though and isn't too generous with her smiles (yet?!! hopefully she will be soon!) but her stern game faces crack me up too.
  • Hasn't rolled over yet but if she's on her back she can get herself allllll the way onto her side.  I bet she'll roll back to front before front to back!  As much as she loved being on her tummy when she was first born she doesn't like it as much now and tummy time is a struggle and she hates it.
  • Holds her head up SO well.  We got her this Sit-Me-Up floor seat (which is SO MUCH BETTER than the Bumbo) and she loves sitting in it and this has totally helped her head and neck control too!
  • Still a thumb sucker -- usually only when she's tired and about to fall asleep.  Definitely has figured out how to self-soothe herself and
  • Is much better this month about not being held 24/7 and content sitting by herself.  Has found her hands and loves flailing those about and grabbing for things.  Really likes her rattle thingies that came on her floor seat.  Does have some serious FOMO when she's left TOO LONG by herself and starts to get fussy and immediately stops once she's picked up.  She likes to be where the action is and I honestly can't blame her for that.
  • I went back to work earlier this month (and then I'm done again until August after meetings tomorrow. WOOT!) and she magically started taking a bottle NO PROBLEMA from Mike while I'm gone.  She usually takes 8 ounces when she does take a bottle and woofs it down.  She prefers the Tommee Tippee bottles so that's what we've been using (instead of the hundreds of Dr. Brown's bottles we used with the other two. EYEROLL.). So that's been super nice that she's been taking a bottle easily when I'm at work.  Still prefers the boob when I'm home though.
  • Likes to be worn in the sling or Tula and is happy and content as can be in there!  Fits in the Tula pretty well sans infant insert so yay for that and not having to carry that around too.  Next kid I may have to get one of these so we don't have to hassle with the infant insert at all.
  • Is just such a happy little lady!  Most definitely the third kid because she is so chill and laid back, but is just an amazing girl and such a perfect addition to our family!
Weren't those riveting?!  So many of them were so similar to Rosie at 4 months old.  Crazy.

Here's my favorite part of these monthly posts...comparison snaps!

Andddddd your (my!) favorite, all 3 burritos at 4 months old!  Oh my oh my how they couldn't look any more different, could they?!!

Welp friends, that's all I've got for Miss Annie's 4 month post!  She's officially 1/3rd of the way to ONE!  I cannot believe that.  Time truly is FLYING by.  Until 5 months folks!

Buffalo Chicken Pockets

I have a new recipe for you that I've concocted and it's quickly becoming my favorite go-to quick meal (or snack!) and is oh-so-easy to make.  It's also delicious and super tasty.

What you'll need:

  • Ranch dressing
  • 1 can chicken breast (or 1 cooked chicken breast shredded)
  • Franks Red Hot Wings sauce
  • Monterey Jack shredded cheese
  • 1 tube crescent rolls
How to make these delish buff-chick pockets:
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Drain the water from the chicken breast, put into container and shred with hands or a fork
  3. Mix in hot sauce to desired taste (more = spicer, less = less spicy) -- I usually use about 1/4-1/2 cup
  4. Add ranch and mix (I usually use about 1/8 of a cup or so)
  5. Add shredded cheese (about 1/2 - 2/3 of a cup) to taste -- I like mine very cheesy!
  6. Once mixed together set aside
  7. Unroll crescent rolls and leave as 4 squares (push/blend the slits together so they aren't triangles)
  8. Spread a bit of shredded cheese on each square, and then spoon some of the chicken mixture on top of that; repeat for all 4 of the crescent roll squares
  9. Fold the crescent roll squares on top of themselves to make a pocket
  10. Put pockets onto a baking sheet (I line with foil and spray with cooking spray) and bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes or so.
  11. Take out of the oven and ENJOY!

These things are DELISH and start to finish take less than 20 minutes to make!  If you need a quick go-to snack (or meal) give these a whirl.  You can probably make them smaller for 'bite size' if you need them for a party appetizer.  Enjoy!  And if you make them let me know how you like them!!

Hap-Hap-{Snap} HAPPY!

I love taking pictures. DUH.  However, lately I wake up (not kidding!) with an itch to get my camera out, even for a second, and SNAP SNAP SNAP away.  If I don’t have a photo shoot scheduled that day I summons my flock and they usually are super cooperative for any pics I want to take of them.  I think I am officially addicted to taking pictures.  I mean, there’s much worse things I could be addicted too, right?!  So I think this is an okay addiction to have :)

Patrick went to KiKi’s Lake this weekend (which he is having a blast at -- Mustang rides, swimming at the pool, picnics outside, and so much more!) so it was just the girls and I (well, Mike too but he was working all weekend so snoozing during the day).  I had this shoot on Sunday morning which of course satisfied my snappin’ itch for a second.  However, after naps we were heading to the Mooneys for a BBQ for Brian’s birthday and I got asked if I could snap a few pics of my brother-in-law Danny who graduated law school last weekend.

Well, duhhhhhh, if I have my camera out I’m going to snap some other pics too!  Rosie was about as cooperative as she usually is for pics, but I think we got some really great ones.  I’ve been obsessed with these Tribe Archipelago ( presets and have been editing a lot of my sessions lately with them.  I love the dark moody feel they give and that I can really bring out the colors, especially during that golden hour favorite of mine.

We then headed inside for dinner...and I scarfed down my food so I could go sit with the babies in the living room!  Annie was getting a bit fussy…

So I picked her up and fed her a bit, then decided to sit her back down again on the playmat and brought Joey and Jason over to join too!

I mean, how freaking cute are they?!  They all were happy as could be and nice and content snuggled together on the floor and it was just adorable.

Which then this morning ^^^ this pic popped up on my Timehop from 3 years ago when Patrick was 1 and Lizzy was just a few months old and they were laying on that same playmat at Grandma and Papa’s house!  I’m sure it’s going to get lots and lots of use in the years to come.

Once we got home the sun was literally ABSOLUTELY PERFECT so before we went inside for baths I grabbed Rosie and Scoots and we took a few pics in our neighbor’s yard and by the path.

Rosie demanded to have on her sunnies and necklace she made last week at NeeNee’s which I totally think compliments her personality and pure sass she has (and you can totally see in these pics).

Scooter was oh-so-cooperative, as always, for his snaps, and that sun really makes his reddish brown fur just shine.  I should have tossed Rosie’s sunnies on him for a few pics...oh well, next time :)

Anyways, speaking of Scoots...he really wins an award for most cooperative dog.  I think he really likes Annie and being close to her, because he's always trying to lick attack her when she's sitting in her seat.

I mean, how cute are they?!  And Scooter has really liked sitting upright lately (probably because he was a human in a former life) and I snapped this video of them on Sunday watching the Cardinals' game...

I.was.dying.  Both of them were just sitting there chillin' like no big deal, we're just watching the game.  I couldn't stop laughing.

Anyways, I'll wrap up this post with a few adorable snaps of Annie (look at her sleepy cheeks!! gahhhh!!) and cannot handle the fact that she'll be FOUR MONTHS OLD on Wednesday.  I seriously cannot believe that.  It's going wayyyyy too fast!  Anyways, I hope everyone had a great weekend -- I have 2 days of meetings this week then I'm DONE for summer! I cannot wait!  Have a good one friends!

Here, There, and Everywhere

Okay.  2 half days of meetings next week and then HELLLLLLOOOO sweet summertime!  Nevermind my summer school {online} class is starting Monday, but hey, focusing on the actual BEING THERE at school part that will be done until August! WOOT!  I cannot wait!

So my mom text me this pic on Wednesday -- apparently Rosie 'kissed the concrete' running up to the park on Wednesday and OUCHIES.  Yes, she screamed and was not a happy camper but took it like a champ and hasn't let her boo boo on her nose stop her from going 110% like she always does.

It's definitely getting better quickly and I'm sure by Wednesday next week it'll be good as gone.  I'm sure this won't be the last injury she (or heck, any of the kids sustain) but I hope there's a long time in between the next injury.

Today was day 147 of my #mooneymatte365 project and I've only missed one day (Patrick's birthday!! GAH! I thought I had posted my matte pic that day and actually didn't! woops! so I quickly posted 2 the following day) and I'm loving the different snaps I'm getting!  This project is definitely a favorite and I am going to keep doing it in years to come, God willing.

Kate got this awesome certificate for Patrick from the Missouri Department of Conservation for his first fish catch and my picture opportunity of him with it post-siesta was not a good idea.  He was in no mood for pics or celebrating his cool certificate...but!  Nonetheless I snapped a crying pic and boom.  This is what we have to go along with his first fish catch.

Earlier this week we went to Happy Joe's and met cousin Cole and he had a blast holding Annie!  He's going to be a big brother in the fall (to a new sister!) and loves getting some snuggle time with Annie.  And we love seeing Cole and going to Happy Joe's so it worked out for everyone! Haha!

We hit up the pool on Friday -- probably the last time for a while we'll hit up the INSIDE pool now that the outdoor pool is open!  The kids I don't think care what pool we go to as long as there is water and they can swim in it.

So Annie will be 4 months old on Wednesday and I tossed a side-by-side of Rosie at the same age together and they both are the happiest little ladies at 4 months old, aren't they?!  Rosie is about 4+ pounds bigger than Annie at 4 months but yet they both have double chins and rolls for daysssss on their legs.  Gosh I love these girlies so much.

I had to work last week (booooo) but it made for the early mornings and late afternoons even sweeter with these kiddos!  They have been soooooo good with me back at work after having been off for 3 months, which is a relief because our schedule is super crazy with me working and all of them home with Mike working nights.  Anyways, I'm very much looking forward to spending 2 months with them before school resumes for all (minus Annie!) in August.

This morning Mike took Patrick to Paw Patrol Live downtown.  We got him these tickets back in September for a birthday present and he was up at the crack of dawn this morning because he was so excited for the show!

He had SO MUCH FUN at the show -- I've watched him dancing in this video about 100 times!  Mike said it was awful and torturous but totally worth it to see Patrick so excited and having a blast (along with the bajillion other kids there too).  I want to take him to see Wicked whenever it comes back to STL.  He loves the Wizard of Oz so I know he'll love Wicked too!!

While Patrick and Mike were at Paw Patrol Live the girls and I just hung out -- hitting up Target and lots of smiles before nap time.  They are the best little lady companions for errands and I'm so happy they were mostly in good moods today for our trip to the store.

Lastly I'll end with these snaps that Patrick and I took this afternoon.  He keeps begging me to use my "big camera" and under close supervision of course I let him do it!  He is getting really good and I'm trying to work on little things with him every time with play with the cameras.  He really loves taking pics and I'm hoping this love won't ever fade -- well documented lives are my favorite :)

Anyways, that's all I've got here!  Have a great rest of your Memorial Day weekend friends!
