Annie at 2 Months

Annie is TWO whole months old and I swear I blinked and BAM.  8 weeks have passed instantly and our littlest lady is two months old.  I cannot believe it, because time is going by at lightning speed faster than it did with Rosie and even my pregnancy with Annie!

I'm keeping with my weekly snaps of Annie (much like I did with Rosie) over on Instagram (I keep all of her growth pics tagged with #growAnnieMgrow) and adding another challenge to the mix: having Annie wearing a different June & January outfit for all 52 weeks of the year!  So far I'm 8 for 8 being 8 weeks here's hoping it continues to go well and I get creative with the J&J outfits so I don't have any repeats!  Haha!  I do love these weekly snaps though and watching little miss Annie grow and grow!

Last week I decided to post this pic:

And I added text this time so as not to freak out anyone that it was a pregnancy announcement!  NOPE NOPE NOPE.  Just a comparison pic (you know I'm a sucker for those!) of Annie at 7 weeks in (jelly bean!) and 7 weeks out.  She's grown a little bit, you think?!

We have Annie's 2 month checkup next Tuesday, but until then here are some fun mom stats for you of our littlest gal at 2 whole months old!
  • Annie weighs 13lbs 2oz and I'm guessing is around 23 or 23.5 inches long.  She is a big girl but definitely not as big as her sister or brother at 2 months!  She's our little peanut :)
  • Annie banannie wears all 6 month clothes.  Her 0-6 June & January clothes still fit (woot!) but are getting snug (minus the hoodie jumpers, those run big thankfully!) so I'll probably have to get some 6-12 month stuff soon too so she's got some cute stuff to wear this summer.  She definitely is the petite one of the kids at 2 months old; not nearly as big as Patrick and Rosie were at this age (they were both nearly 15 pounds!!).
  • Started sleeping longer stretches a week or so ago (she was consistently giving a 5-6 hour stretch off the bat then 3-4 hour ones after that) and it's been glorious!  She's been doing now a 6-8 hour stretch off the bat, eats for 10 minutes then goes right back to sleep and then sleeps another 3.5-5 hour stretch after that before she wakes up for the day.  We put her down about 8-8:30pm (same as the big kids) and she gets up for the day around 9am (same as the big kids too) after 2 wake ups in that span to it's been really nice keeping her on the same schedule.  Knock on wood that continues...or gets even better and she drops a feeding!!
  • Annie is in her crib!  She's been in her own room and bed since 4 weeks old (right after her 1 month post we moved her!) and it's been AMAZING.  She hated the Dockatot (who knew?!) and loves her flat we went with it.  Like her older siblings she's a great sleeper.  We put her down in her crib for one nap a day at the same time as Rosie and she'll usually sleep a good 2-3 hours.  She dozes off other times during the day as well but, keeping with what's worked with the past 2 kiddos, I'm conditioning her from the get-go to take ONE nap a day IN HER BED.  So far so good!
  • She sleeps on her side or back now (we usually lay her down on her side and she rolls to her back when she falls asleep) and seems happy and content that way.  She use to nap on her tummy but seems to be happy on her back for now so we just keep her on her back all of the time!  She's not swaddled; just wears footie jammies to bed and a sleep sack to keep her warm.  She's an easy-going sleeper.
  • Much like her older sister, she started really smiling the past week or so.  She doesn't offer a smile much, but when she does it's dimple-filled and oh-so-cute!  I cannot handle when they start truly is THE BEST.
  • Had her first cold? runny nose? sniffles?  Not sure what you'd call it at 2 months old but the Nose Frida and her have become besties and SO MUCH SNOT has come out.  Nothing else seems to be bothering her (although she did have a few shorter stretches of nighttime sleep because of it) so hopefully it'll be on its way out SOON.
  • Has completely stopped grunting and no longer needs gas drops when she eats.  She grew out of that shortly after a month.  She (knocking on wood as I type this!) has spit up maybe twice EVER so she isn't a fan of retching up her meals which is LOVELY because we have almost no use for burp cloths and don't have many clothing changes a day (hers or mine) so yay for that.
  • Annie wears cloth diapers (Applecheeks size 1s) during the day and size 2 disposables at night.  She switched over to size 2 sposies when she hit 12.5 pounds around 7 weeks old.  Sposies are just easier at night and once she starts sleeping 12 hour stretches I'll put her in the fitted overnight cloth diapers instead...but since we only have 4 of those we don't have enough for her to use overnight right sposies at night it is until then!
  • Still loves to be held but in the past week or so has been A LOT better about being set down and not freaking out and immediately crying when she is set that's been nice.  She still would prefer to be held or carried (much like her big sister) which is fine cause I love the cuddles and snuggles, but at least you can set her down for a bit before she starts fussing and wants to be picked up now.
  • REFUSES to take a bottle.  She was getting 1 bottle a day from birth but a week or two ago this stopped and she WILL NOT TAKE ONE.  She acts like you are shoving your fingers down her throat and screams and cries and wants nothing of it, so that's been fun.  She wants it from the source and from her mama.  We've tried different bottles and me being gone but she doesn't seem to care, she won't take it unless it's from mama's boobs.
  • Holds her head up like a champ!  Much like her big sis at this age, she's great at supporting her head and neck and keeping it upright!
  • Very much likes to be worn in the Tula or ring sling.  Being the third kid she gets a lot of rides in these and seems to be happy as can be in there and usually falls asleep pretty quickly once she's in there.  If she's ever needing to be settled down in the Tula she goes and BAM.  Instant calm.  Seriously, if you're a mom and don't have one GET ONE.
  • Annie has some dark duck fuzz brown hair on her head and dark blue eyes...I'm guessing her hair will lighten up a bit when it comes in and be a dark blonde like Rosie's and I bet her eyes will change to darker too eventually...but for now I'm loving her little features and colorings of her eyes and hair!

Okie dokie, your (mine) favorite part: comparison pics!  Here's Annie at just born, 1 and 2 months old.

Andddddd (my favorite!) here's all three kiddos at 2 months old!  My oh my how similarly different they are, aren't they?!

That's all I've got for Annie's 2 month post!  I cannot believe she's 1/6th of a way to a year old!  It's going wayyyyyy too fast again!  I can't handle it!  We love you so much Annie girl!  Until 3 months friends, adios!

Killing Time...

It's 9:45pm when I'm starting this blog post and I really REALLY want to be snuggled in my bed but NOPE.  Here I am blogging about the past couple days cause I am killing time.  Why you ask?!

^^^ That's why.  I pumped out 19oz this morning AFTER feeding Annie for just the second time since she last ate at 8:30pm (this was at 7am and I had last pumped at 10pm before I went to bed).  My oversupply is IN and in full force.  I literally was oh-so-happy when Annie started squawking at 7am cause my boobs were rock hard and hurt and needed to be emptied ASAP.  You see, I can't just go to bed whenever I feel like it -- no, now I try and go to bed as late as I possibly can (so I usually try and pump at the earliest at 10pm) so I sleep better and am less full when it's time to wake up and feed Annie.  Honestly, by 7am I am about to explode and the poor thing practically chokes with how fast my milk is coming out.  It's definitely not an awful problem to have, but just a wittle bit uncomfortable and makes me a pro at scheduling.

Anywho, that's why I'm sitting here later than my usual afternoon naptime blog sesh blogging before I pump and call it a night.

So!  Where to begin?!

These Snap Shop Trays are changing my shopping life.  I know I've talked about them before but I'm mentioning it again how wonderful they are and how NICE they making shopping with the diva queen Rosie.  She wants to ride IN the cart and actually stays occupied with her snacks.  And yes, much better than a snack cup cause this she can't launch across the store.  Win win.

Patrick got home Monday afternoon (a blog post all about his trip (well, as much as he's told me, so more like a photodump) will be coming soon.  Promise.) and Rosie was SOOOO excited to see him!  I mean, they started fighting and hitting and screaming about 5 minutes later, but yeah, both were super excited to see each other.  And I'm way jealous of his tan, btw.

Annie was pretty thrilled to see her big brother too -- and Patrick couldn't wait to hold his littlest sissy too -- for a few seconds then he was over it.  Typical.

Smiley then RB face Annie over here has been really showing her personality lately.  She is SO SMILEY on her changing table for some reason and then gives you the drop deadest looks other times.  We tried the Bumbo seat by the way and she wasn't a huge fan of that either...but she didn't cry either so it wasn't a total waste.  And sneezing is hilarious to her too, which is just adorable.  She is just the cutest and I love her smiles and serious faces so much!  Ignoring the fact that she'll be TWO MONTHS OLD on Friday.  Eeekkk.  That went fast.

This just made me laugh.  She can sit up so well...supported...for a few seconds.  Then BOOM.  She falls over like a chopped down tree.

And the littlest sister bear cannot hang at the dinner table!  Mike will grab her because she gets a bit whiny and fussy around dinner time each night and not 5 minutes after he's held her BAM.  She's out like a light.

We tried keeping her up tonight and she was having none of it.  When she's tired she's GONE.

My 365 matte project is still going strong and this was my snap from the other day and I love it so much.  It was even an iPhone pic too which I think makes me like it even more.  We have such good light in our entryway and front living room in the mornings and I took advantage of it for a rare snap WITH ME IN IT the other day.

We've started doing this shadow book for bedtime for the big kids and they LOVE IT.  So I looked on Amazon and there's like 10 more of them so now I know what I'm going to be getting Patrick for his birthday!  Which is awesome cause I don't want to get him a bunch of toys and they love this book so much it'll be nice to have some variety since we read it every.single.night.

So Rosie is completely obsessed with "baby" (which we keep reminding her baby has a name...which she knows but still calls her baby.  It's so funny.) and whenever she seems her she has to crawl up on you (or her) and give her a big puckered kiss.  This also happens in the bathtub too when they're having a sister bath and it just melts my mama heart.  I also like dressing them in matching colors and outfits too.  Having 2 girls is turning out to be really fun.

Just have to give a shoutout to my buddy Katie for this ahhhhhhmazing onesie she made Annie!  I know I talked about this before but I'm just sharing it again because it's just the cutest!

So Annie HATES the bottle.  Something happened in the past 2 weeks and she went from taking one bottle a day no biggie to not wanting it AT ALL and screaming and crying and acting like we're shoving our fingers down her throat when Mike tries to give it to her.  I just had to include a couple video samplings of this.  Yes, we've tried almost everything we can think of: 5 different types of bottles...different feeding being being gone...ugh.  Next up is we're going to try and give her one NOT at our house and have someone other than Mike give it to her.  Fingers crossed she takes it SOON cause I need to be able to leave her for more than 3 hours...and I do have to go back to work in less than 6 weeks!

We had a quick little after school playtime outside this afternoon cause it wasn't raining and was like 60 degrees out so I ran in and got my camera and snapped some pics of the kiddos having fun before Annie started wailing and needed to be fed.  After I fed her the older kids came inside and I showed Patrick his new cape (his other one is here somewhere but we've looked EVERYWHERE and seriously cannot find it!) so they modeled their TinySuperheroes capes for me for a few snaps I then sent over to my buddy Robyn to enjoy :)

So that's about all that has gone on around these parts!  Here is a super cute video of Goose with Annie from earlier is just the sweetest!  Goose says the funniest and sweetest (and sometimes not the most PC!) stuff and I decided to start chronicling her mumblings on Instagram at #ConvoswiththeGoose.  I hope I have oodles more to add in the coming days!

Anyways, that's all I've got!  We've entered 'busy season' as I call it -- within a little over a month's time we have Mike's birthday, Rosie's birthday, Easter, Patrick's birthday, and Mother's Day!  HOLY BUSY!  And holy expensive -- that's a lot of gifts to get!  And toss in my cousin's baby shower and a good friend's wedding in that time too...we are busy!  And this is one of the reasons I'm glad Annie was born at the end of January -- a couple months before 'busy season' (which will happen every year from here on out!) starts up.  Mike's birthday is Saturday, Rosie's is next Thursday, and then Easter like 10 days after that!  BUSY IS RIGHT!

That's all I've got for this post...which took me less than 30 minutes to write since it's only 10:12pm now and I'm past my 10pm limit from when I can start I'm done here, off to pump and hit the hay and hope Annie gives me a good 6-8 hours (as she's been doing pretty consistently the past week or so!) before she wants to eat.  Have a good one friends!

Annie's Birth Snaps

Soooooo I penned Annie's Birth Story like less than 36 hours after her arrival -- I wanted to share her birth snaps and story with my 5 loyal blog followers :)

However, I edited her birth snaps that my oh-so-talented brother Charlie took for us (like over 900 pictures in an hour! HOLY COW!) a few hours after Annie's know, a few hours AFTER I just had major surgery and all that jazz.

Today Annie is 8 weeks old (howwww?!! Time goes so darn fast!) and I decided to look back at the RAW images Charlie took and OMG.  There are SO MANY PICTURES that I totally missed!  Pictures that I completely either didn't see or glanced over when I was editing them the first time!  GAHHHH!

So, instead of just chalking it up to having missed those, I'm sharing with you now a good chunk of pics I haven't shared yet (some are repeats from her birth story that I actually re-edited in a new style I'm currently fond of so you get a new little taste of that too).  There'll all in black and white because I just think that b&w birth photos are magical, incredible, and simply amazing.  And don't worry, they're all PG :)

I will first mention (as I did in her birth story) how surreal it was WALKING down the hall, hopping up on the operating table, and 15 minutes later having my baby taken out of me (and the not being able to walk down the hall like I just did again for, um, a few weeks without any soreness or pain!).  Incredible.  I am so thankful for modern medicine.

Looking over these pics really makes me sooooooo emotional about the whole birth (in a good way!) and the fact that she'll be 2 months old on Friday (WHATTTT???!!) and how time really does fly by and goes faster and faster the deeper into life you get.  I absolutely love birth photos -- especially my own! -- and love that I have an outlet to share them with you.  Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little walk down 8-week-old memory lane.  Looking at these pictures over and over again just basically solidified to me that, God willing, there will be a fourth Mooney babe somewhere in the future :)
