First off, it's World Photography Day so before Mike went to sleep I had him snap this gem ^^ of me (with my iPhone...since all of my cameras were tied up!) and it's one of my new most favorite self portraits!  I love it soooooo.  Yay for pictures...and hopefully many MANY more years to come snappin' away!

Monday is the big solar eclipse...and we in STL are in the path of totality which is awesome because we'll have an awesome show for it!  The kids and I still have school (boo) but we'll each be watching it with our respective institutions and I'm hoping for a cloudless day and perfecting viewing weather!  Scoots is obviously ready with his eclipse glasses too :) hahaha! I posted this on his page and someone was legit concerned about him "watching" it on Monday.  I can promise you he'll be safely inside asleep on the couch...which is where he spends 90% of his days.

While snapping some solar glasses pics of Scoots I also snapped a few pics of the bees that are hanging out in the front of our house.  Gosh those suckers are fast!  I had so many blurry ones before I finally was able to sharply capture one of them.  I mean I didn't have a great lens on for capturing wildlife but love how these did turn out that I was able to capture!

Last night went to my cousin's birthday/welcome home party and Rosie was in a MOOD 😬 tearing into and destroying her cupcake and not wanting to smile for anything with her cousin Cole.  Ahhh, life of a two year old.  Patrick was off making new friends and not-pictured having a blast and Annie got a lot of snuggle time with her aunts and cousins and stole a selfie with mama here.

Houdini here someone managed to get her arm out of the sleeve and through her head hole in her jammies!  I was dying laughing when I went to get her up this morning and saw that!  Too funny.  She cracks me up!

Mike got home late and went right to bed (not before we all had some donuts he brought home with him!) and then the kiddos and I headed off to our favorite park for Rosie's friend Riley's birthday party!  Rosie and Riley (and their buddy Jack) have playdates every Wednesday with their grandmas/aunts so naturally we all got invited to her party and it was a ton of fun!  The kids were only partially mad at me that I forgot their swimsuits (oops) and found some chalk and other things to dive in to instead of the water.  Fortunately it wasn't too hot and was actually a nice day for a birthday party!  WOOT!

We got home and Annie was just so unhappy to have to go take a nap.  I KID! I KID!  She's the happiest baby EVER.

Patrick and I stole away to grocery shop while the girls + Mike slept and it's so much fun getting to spend some one-on-one time with him!  I treated him to a slushy on our way home for being so good and such a big helper for me.

That's about all I've got for this random half-weekend happenings post!  We have a BBQ to go to tonight and that's IT for this weekend; no photoshoots or anything else planned and I'm kinda loving it, especially after the exhausting first week of school I had (I'm always tired after the first week!).  Anyways, have a great rest of your weekend friends!!

Dino Mitz!

I've posted in the past about my undying love for Mitz Accessories kids' clothing, and this post is another homage to that: I FREAKING LOVE these clothes!

First off, I will tell you that wherever the kids go and they're wearing their Mitz clothes (especially their dino outfits) they get SO MANY compliments on their outfits!  I totally am going to dress them in matching Mitz outfits at school next week too...just you wait for those pics! Hehehe!

Anyways, before the girls got up from their siestas the other day Patrick and I stole away outside for some snaps in his dino shirt (and new Samba shoes for indoor soccer which he starts in a couple weeks...and is so.stinking.excited.about.) and I am loooooving the way these snaps turned out!

Gosh isn't he the cutest?!  I can't handle him sometimes!

Anyways, just wanted to share these snaps with you!  Love Mitz, love what they stand for, and love their quality of clothes!  Check them out here and maybe you'll find something you love for your kiddo (or grandkid...or friend...or whomever!) too!!

Rosie's 1st Day of 2s Preschool

Today was Rosie's first official day of preschool!  As I posted about earlier this week, we decided to put Rosie in preschool a year earlier than we planned because she was just SO READY it seemed and we really felt like we'd be doing her a disservice if we didn' off she goes!

I made her a stats board just like Patrick and she helped me the other night fill it out with all of her details and stats and things she loves.  That actually happened right before I took the color video because she kept saying what color I was using to write with!  Such a smart cookie she is.

Anyways, her first day of school went better than I thought!  I was so excited that they are both dropped off in the same 'early care' room before their actual school and classes start.  This was going to make it easy since she has her PatPat with her in the mornings (and makes drop off a breeze for me!).  However, guess who woke up not feeling good and barfing and couldn't go to school?!  PATRICK!  So of course Mike and I were like "Uh, we didn't plan for this!" Mike stayed home and awake with Patrick and Annie (if it wasn't my first day of actual classes I would have stayed home and let Mike snooze) and I took Rosie to school, mildly terrified how it was going to go...

Shockingly it went seamlessly.  No tears, she went to playing and was happy as a little clam, even without her PatPat there!  WIN!  I told her bye, she waved and said, "Bye mommy." And off I went to school!  I was so impressed!

Her class has an app that they log everything -- pictures included! -- in that they do during the day and I get notifications of all of the things she's up to which is SO AWESOME.

Much like yesterday I couldn't wait for 3:30 to come to pick up both kids and hear all about Rosie's first day of school!  I got there about 3:15 and had to wake her up from her siesta, but once she got up she was so happy to see me and said goodbye to her teacher and off we went!

She didn't say too much other than she played with playdoh, ate all of her snacks, and painted.  She did say she had fun and can't wait to go back Monday, so I'd say it was a great day for her!

That ^^ was definitely my favorite pic I took of her today!  Something about it just makes me loooooove it.  The sunflare, innocence of her getting ready to leave, and just everything. I really love it.

Anyways, all in all Rosie had a great day and I really think she's going to learn a TON this year in her 2s class.  I'm secretly hoping potty training is one of the things she learns...and maybe quickly!  Haha!!  Anyways, I cannot wait to see all that she does and how much she grows.  As much as I hate seeing the days go by quickly and my kids seemingly go from babies to school-age in the blink of an eye, it is fun to watch them grow and experience new things and learn.  You betcha I'll keep you posted on all that she does this school year!!!

Patrick's 1st Day of 4s Preschool

I swear I JUST wrote about Patrick's last day of school and BOOM.  Today marks his very first day of 4s preschool -- his last year of preschool (or officially pre-K) before he starts kindergarten next year!  Where or where is the time going?!

In keeping with tradition we updated his stats board the other night and snapped some first day of school pictures before I took him to his first day at his new school -- he's still in the same program he was last year just as a different campus (so Rosie and he could go to the same school).  He was SO EXCITED for school to start (and for his new outer space backpack!) it was literally the cutest thing ever.

Last year he was so nervous for early drop-off but not this year...he couldn't have been any more excited!  My oh my how much can change in a year, huh?!!  Tomorrow will be Rosie's first day of school and thankfully they're both in early care so they'll be together for the first hour before they go off to their own classrooms...which will be nice cause I'm anticipating Rosie maybe being a bit clingy...

Anyways!  Back to Patrick!  He was so thrilled for his first day and SO talkative.  It was just the cutest thing.  I hugged him goodbye {at home} and headed off to my first day of school myself while Mike got to do drop-off with him.

Mike said drop-off went awesome -- he was too excited to eat his breakfast and just wanted to play!  He was a bit concerned that he wasn't in "his classroom" but Mike explained that he stays in that classroom for 'early care' and then at 8:15 goes to his own classroom...once he figured that out (and realized 'oh yeah, did this last year at my old school') he was totally fine.  He was just so excited and didn't have any issues with Mike leaving!

I couldn't wait for 3:30 to come to pick him up!  I was hoping he'd tell me all about his day and not give me one-word answers.

It absolutely POURED when I went to pick him up...and unlike his school last year (which was just preschool) this year's campus is a preschool + K-8 school and OMG SO CROWDED at 3:15pm in the parking lot!  Not only did we get soaking wet it also took us 15 minutes to get out of our parking spot because it was so packed!  So mental note for pickup: park close to the exit and BACK my van in!  Noted for tomorrow...and the rest of the year.

Anyways, Patrick LOVED school and had a blast.  He said he didn't fall asleep during rest time (just "rested" he said) but had so much fun with his new friends and playing and learning with them.  He was sparse on new friends' names and exactly what he did, but I know he had a blast and couldn't stop telling Rosie how much fun she was going to have tomorrow and how much he liked his new yeah, I'd say he had a good first day.

I couldn't resist sharing a comparison pic from his first day of 3s last year to his first day of 4s preschool this year!  My oh my oh he's grown!  Less baby face and more boy!  He's growing so fast!

All in all he had a wonderful first day of school and is SO EXCITED to go back tomorrow with Rosie on her first official day!  Ahhh, what a wonderful school year this is going to be for him, I just know it!
