Friday Funsies

AHHHHHH!  It's Friday!  And tomorrow is OCTOBER.  WHAT?!!!  I cannot believe it.  NUTS.  This kid is officially 4 months away from being hatched and I am still in disbelief that this pregnancy has gone by so lightning fast.  My next appointment isn't for a few weeks, so I'm still just wishin' and hopin' and prayin' that this placenta gets a'movin' upwards.

Earlier this week we went to Happy Joe's (our favorite!) Pizza Parlor for dinner (I always bring "appetizers" for the kids -- aka fruit and cheese) and Rosie, who is obsessed with iPhones (naturally, like her mama) decided to try and call "Papa" on hers and it was just the funniest thing EVER.

I mean, look at her!  She's got her head down, phone to her ear, chatting away.  Ahhh, a glimpse into 10 years from now I'm sure.

On Wednesdays Rosie has "Rosie Wednesdays" with my mom and they always have the best time -- playdates, adventures, park trips, and so much more!  This past Wednesday was no exception: they got together with some other kiddos for a playdate and had a blast!

You know I'm a sucker for comparison pics!  I can't help it!  This week was no exception: both Patrick and Ro lovin' on some corn at 1 years old, and both of them waking up in the morning with some serious bed head...or as Mike calls Rosie's, "Donald Trump hair."  Hahaha!

Girlfriend really loves her some corn.  She had some last night for dinner too and DEVOURED it.

Earlier this week Mike sent me these snaps while I was at work and they went to Papa's to play (and Patrick, not pictured, to ride his motorcycle) and I just love getting pics like this while I'm at work!  Makes me happy the burritos are having so much fun while I'm gone!

It's no secret I'm a wittle obsessed with June & January, so needless to say I've already started getting together some of #3's potential hospital/going home outfits.  Here are two contenders!  I will be bringing matching headbands too, you know, just in case Patrick is right...

^^^ That happened last night.  I think he's right too, but we will see in FOUR short months!  EEKK!

I mean, they do really love each other, despite one of them seemingly always being too handsy or snatchin' the other one's toys and what not.  Love-hate relationship at its finest.

We made homemade pizza (or should I say Patrick made!) twice this week and he was so proud of showing it off.  "Mom I get to eat my own pizza?!"  -- Yes buddy, you do.  He was quite excited about that.  I'm sure that'll be a staple go-to meal (it's so easy!) into this fall and winter.

So at school this week there was, an um, incident.  I posted it on Facebook to give people a giggle and so many were legit concerned about me falling!  Truly, I was (and am!) fine -- I was sharing more for the exploding lunch tray and ketchup all over me!  Haha!  I need to take a pic of where it "happened" because there are still some food remnants and ketchup stains on the pavement.  Oops.

So I love my J&J but Target has this Cat & Jack line of clothes that is just the CUTEST (and pairs really nicely with J&J) so both of the kids get a lot of lovin' with that too.  I mean, how cute is my little model here?!  Biased, I know.  I know.

Patrick and I had an Aldi adventure last night and if he isn't the spitting image of Mike Mooney, I don't know who he is!

Oh just a Ro and mama selfie.  No biggie.

Two words: sexy pose.  Scoots has it NAILED DOWN.

And lastly, I'll end this post with an adorable siestaing picture of Patrick snoozin' the night away before I had to wake him up "too early mommy!!" to go to school this morning.

Have a great Friday friends and a wonderful weekend!!

366 Update

It's been a hot minute since I did my last 366 project update, so, lucky you!  You're getting one today!

Today is day 271 (although I haven't posted a pic today...so these are just days 1 - 270 for ya) and I am proud to say I still haven't missed a day since I started!  Wahoooo!  There have been a few days where I'll have to post 2, because I forgot from the previous day, but those really haven't been too many.  For some reason I just seem to remember to take a black and white snap each day and post it!

It's going to feel really weird come January 1st to not do this...maybe I'll continue?  Start another one?  Take a break?!  Who knows!  Stay tuned for that one :)

Anyways, here are 270 days of black and white snaps all in one pic!  Yes, it's kinda hard to see cause there are SO MANY, but you should be able to click on the pic and zoom in then if you really want to see them.  And they are in no particular order -- completely random!  So don't be confused about that.

Oh, and this is how I made this collage in Photoshop, if you're so interested.

Okay!  That's it!  Short and sweet 366 update...your favorite I'm sure.  Still trying to decide what I'm going to do with all of these snaps...I may make a coffee table book of them when it's all said and done.  Stay tuned.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I debated even sharing this recipe since it's my super secret recipe that I've had for YEARS and feel like I've perfected, but I'm feeling generous today so share away I am!

I want to add that the kicker for these is MILK chocolate chips.  Don't use semi-sweet (you'll thank me later) -- use milk chocolate.  So delish.

Okay!  So here's my recipe...modify if you must (I recommend you not because this one is pretty awesome just the way it is).

What you'll need:

  • Mixer (I use my Kitchen-Aid one)
  • 2 baking sheets
  • cooling rack
  • Kitchen-Aid cookie scoop
  • Spatula
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2-3 cups of flour
  • 1 bag of milk chocolate chips
How to make these yummy cookies:
  1. Preheat oven to 375F
  2. Soften butter if needed (microwave for like 30 seconds) and combine in mixer with brown sugar, regular sugar, and vanilla
  3. Add eggs, mix till combined
  4. Add salt, baking soda, and flour (hint: I never EVER measure out the flour -- I just kind of eye-ball it, meaning I add a bit, mix, add some more, mix, etc... until I get the consistency where the dough is thicker and shapable and doesn't stick to anything
  5. Add the chocolate chips and mix until combined
  6. Use this guy to scoop out the dough into perfect cookie balls and place in rows on an ungreased cookie sheet
  7. Place full cookie sheets in the oven for approximately 5 minutes; check the cookies and switch them racks, and watch for another 3-4 minutes until they are just starting to get golden brown on top
  8. Take out of the oven and use a spatula to move them onto a cooling rack...let them cool for .2 seconds and then DEVOUR!
That's it!  As always, if you make these and enjoy them, let me know!! :)

21 weeks.

21 weeks today!  After the whirlwind of last week with the complete placenta previa deal-e-o and what not, I am being grateful for each and every day of this pregnancy, this little babe's teeny tiny flutters and kicks, and his/her continued growth!

Okay!  So!  What's new for week 21?!  Well, after my ultrasound and appointment last week, it's like this kid (or someone else!) was trying to tell me it was going to be alright, because the very next day I was feeling way more flutters and flat out kicks and punches than I've felt thus far!  So that has been a welcomed treat everyday since feeling those little movements.  I'm hoping in the next week or so Mike can actually start feeling them on my tummy too.

Nice little comparison snap for you: 20.5 weeks with Ro on the left, 20.5 weeks with #3 on the right!  Definitely bigger on the right, and I thought I was carrying higher but now looking at these two pics I'm not too sure!  Haha!

I did a silhouette snap at 21 weeks with Ro, and figured I'd do another one at 21 weeks this go'round too. HOLY TOLEDO LOOK AT HOW MUCH BIGGER I AM!!!!!!  Geez-louise!  I really do think I'm way bigger this go round and it feels like it is really starting to be apparent in my comparison snaps (which I'm sure you LOOOOOVE seeing, amiright?!!).

I still am like 99% convinced #3 is another little lady.  I really will be shocked if my doc pulls out a boy!  But there's just so many similarities to Ro's pregnancy and just mama-gut feelings I have that this is another little woman.  It seems that in 18 (or less!) weeks we will find out!

So I set my c-section date, which right now is January 31st.  So although this kid is due in February, he/she is most definitely coming in January!  Which is like FOUR MONTHS (OMG) away!  I cannot believe how fast it's going!  However, this date isn't set in stone (it is the latest day I'll deliver though) -- it could be a few weeks earlier than that -- it all depends on my placenta!  Which, I'm going to try not to dwell on that too much, but I really hope it gets a'movin' upwards sometime soon!

I've been feeling really good (minus some seasonal allergy stuff, but that's been my life for as long as I can remember in the fall so whatevs) and no more heartburn after that awful bout a couple weeks ago.  The miracle Nexium drug is working wonders, thankfully!  I have been super tired lately, but I think that's mostly from being up 4+ times a night to pee and then in between having to take Scoots out to pee cause he can never seem to get up when I am.  So much eyerollin' for him.  Plus with Mike working nights now and gone when we're all sleeping causes me to sleep lighter and not really sleep 'as well' as I once did.  I'm sure I'll get use to that though.

So!  That's about all I've got for a 21 week update!  It's finally feelin' like fall here and cooler which is nice because I've felt like a furnace the past several weeks.  Anyways, until week 22...adios friends!

Family Snaps

I alluded to this a bit in my last post but I wanted to come back here with a new post and share our family snaps we got last night at Faust Park!  Like I said I traded pics with another photog (you can see the ones I did for her and her boyfriend here) and she got ours back to us tonight and I just love them so much!

They perfectly sum up our family and I love it.  Rosie with her signature RB face, Patrick with his little snicker of a grin (and then in the one pic where he's clearly "over it") and Scooter just doing his thing.

Anyways, just wanted to share these with you!  I really love how they turned out (and Sarah loved hers too!) so I'm sure we'll be trading sessions in the future as well because this worked out so good for all of us!!

A Whole Lotta Snappin'

What.a.weekend.  I was already kinda tired from last week's whirlwind of placenta previa happenins, but then I didn't really get a moment to breathe before the busiest weekend EVER set in!

We had a wedding Friday night, a playdate on Saturday morning, family photos Saturday night, a baby shower for me then later Saturday night, another photoshoot Sunday morning, and then family dinner at Erin and Curtis' Sunday night!  It's only Sunday afternoon and I'm exhausted thinking back on all week did this weekend! Haha!

Let's backtrack a wittle bit though -- last week our van got side-swiped (not bad at all! just minorly scratched) so that's a lovely thing we have to now handle with getting fixed.  The kids were in the van too and Patrick was so excited to see the policeman come and then reminded everyone he saw for the next several days that "someone hit our car."

Ro got some new June & January clothes in the mail this week and she christened them in the only way possible: getting as much food on them as she could.  YOLO, right?!

Naturally Scoots had to try on some of Ro's outfits too while she was away.  He's always a hit in one of my Facebook groups when he does that!

And I feel like I've been totally lacking in the Scooter pics recently, so here are some ones of him looking particularly handsome and dashing in his sunnies.

The kids got some sweet new toys from their buddy Stef at Sweet Be's and they couldn't be more obsessed with them!  And they can't wait for Stef and her hubby Matt to come over for dinner soon too so they can play with them!

Can we just take a second and appreciate how awesome Ro's hair has been lately?!  I mean, from her bedhead to her on.point. antenna that is so palm tree-esque, I just love her hair so much.  And no mom, we're not cutting it anytime soon.

I love the Boomerang app so much.  That is all.

We had a wedding to snap on Friday (no sneak peeks from that other than these ^^, sorry!  They didn't want any on social media!) and it went awesome.  I've started going through and editing the pics and I'm so happy with how they turned out!  I love my new 70-200mm lens SO MUCH and it's just perfect for weddings!  I cannot wait to snap our last wedding of 2016 in a few weeks!

Saturday morning (Patrick was at the lake.  Naturally.) we went to a local park to have a June & January STL BFFs meetup and it was so much fun!  Well, until the lunch witching hour hit and Rosie wasn't having it (see above evidence) and lost her shiz and wanted to leave, where she promptly feel asleep about .2 seconds after getting in the car.  Girlfriend was tired.  Next time mom needs to remember to bring snacks!

Saturday evening we had family pics -- actually I snapped some pics of another couple ^^ and she snapped some family ones of us!  So we photogs traded services!  It went awesome -- short and sweet -- and I cannot wait to see the ones she got of us! :)

I got home late Saturday after a baby shower to discover my sweet new iPhone 7plus case came in the mail and I'm obsessed with it.  So is Patrick.  I love it so much.  Just wish it had donuts!

Sunday morning I had these family pics with the sweetest family and then promptly came home, relieved Mike so he could sleep, made the kids lunch, edited pics, ran to the store, and wrote this here post!  We are off to Erin and Curtis' for pulled pork dinner tonight and I cannot wait!  Then, behold, another work week is upon us.  I'll just try and keep this in my memory all week to get me to the weekend:

Have a great one friends!
