17 weeks.

Woo hoo!  17 weeks!  I hate the fact that #3 is being compared to my arch nemesis of hated food...but that's what the Baby Pics app had for comparison's sake this week.  We are inching closer and closer it seems SO FAST to the halfway point...and it's still August!  I cannot believe that.  Nuts.  Just nuts.

I have an OB appointment tomorrow, which feels like FOREVER since I've been there.  I haven't seen my actual OB since I was 7 weeks, since I saw the nurse practitioner (never again!) at 12 weeks.  So I'm excited to see her and catch her up with what's been happening with me and #3.  Then just 3 weeks later is my 20 week ultrasound!  I cannot believe it.  Seriously, so fast.

This past week has been interesting...it was our first full week of school, and I met it with a double ear infection and sinus infection.  My allergist loaded me up with some antibiotics which didn't work, so then had to resort to steroids, which, knock on wood, are doing the trick.  I was pretty miserable last week -- I was just getting my appetite back and BAM.  Infections struck.  And then Friday I woke up so so so nauseous I had to pop a zofran to make it through the morning.  I really hope it was just a side-effect of all of the drainage and such and not pregnancy nausea, but yeah, it SUCKED.  But!  After that I got my steroids and those have really helped me get back to feeling myself, hunger coming back and all.  I'm definitely hungry, but not the ravenous "I want to eat everything in sight" hunger I remember at this point from the past 2 pregnancies.

As far as movement, definitely feeling more and more it seems.  I guess I forget what the early movement feels like -- flutters, or to me, feels like little tickles inside my tummy -- and now that those are coming back to my memory I am most definitely feeling them more and more it seems.  I hope they keep up!  And I can't wait for them to get stronger and turn into legit kicks that Mike can feel on the outside.

Here's a lovely comparison pic about 16.5 weeks with Rosie (on the left) and #3 on the right.  About the same size, huh?!  Although #3 looks like he/she is sitting higher...curious to see how he/she is measuring in a few weeks at my ultrasound!

Welp, that's about all I've got for week 17!  Until week 18 friends, adios!

Weekend Happenings

Whew!  What a weekend!  Patrick spent it at his vacation home, and Rosie got a lot of one on one time hanging with her parents...errrr, well, me, Mike had to work.  Which Mike only has FOUR days left on days until he goes to PERMANENT 11pm - 7am shifts.  Stay tuned for details on that and the impact it's gonna have on our little fam bam.  We are anticipating it to go one way, but, haha, you know what happens with doing that.  So we really don't know how it's going to work until it actually happens!  I'm sure I'll have a whole 'nother post in the next weeks all about how that's going.  Stay tuned.

So I am OBSESSED with this shirt from Mitz Accessories I got for Ro from backing their Kickstarter campaign like 8 months ago.  I want EVERYTHING they make!  It's all gender neutral clothing and I just love love LOVE it.

Speaking of Rosie, girlfriend is making progress on the walking front!  Yes, she topples into the couch as fast as she can, but she does take a few steps on her own to get there!  I really think she's going to be full on walking soon (or I'm hoping!), so I love giving these little updates on her progress because HOPEFULLY full blown walking is in her near future.

And speaking of walking, she loves pushing her cart everywhere (on her own!  She'll get it and start cruisin' all by herself!) and then we have been forcing her to hold our hand and walk nearly everywhere with us too.

Ro has developed an interest in her iPad, specifically Baby Einstein, recently, which helps me out SO MUCH especially when I have a ton of photo editing to do whilst the minions are awake.  Isn't she considerate?!!

Speaking of photo editing, I had TWO big shoots this weekend: a wedding and a surprise proposal!  Both turned out amazing and I just love love LOVE the pics we got!

Before Patrick got back from his vacation home (which he had another absolute blast of a weekend, btw...his KiKi is so good to him!), Mike, Rosie, and I went to dinner with the Mooney clan and then hit up Aldis for some groceries.  Ro LOVES holding something at the grocery store, and when it's time to pay for it or put it in the cart she screams bloody murder and won't let you take it.  There's usually a chunk missing out of the box too that she's gnawed off as well.  You do you, Rosie girl.

Mike brought home a fun new toy for Patrick (and really Rosie too!) from work today, and needless to say, when they saw it when we got home Sunday night, they were SO EXCITED to play on it!

Sunday night also brought another first for the Mooney minions: a visit from the ice cream truck!  It came down our street and both Patrick and Ro got their own frosty treat which they LOVED...and Ro sucked hers down in about .5 seconds.

So!  That's about all I've got for this quick little weekend recap!  Onto another week -- a full work week, boo hiss -- and hopefully it'll start cooling down and bring on the fall weather, cause I'm so over summer now that school's back in session!  Haha!  Have a great one friends!

Patrick Tales | 07

It has been a while since my last edition of Patrick Tales, so I figured now would be as good of a time as ever to hatch some out.  I know there's about a billion more tales that I've found hilarious that I'm forgetting, but, alas, here's the list I've got.  Try to chuckle along with me...or not, maybe it's just my mom goggles and these are only funny to me.

Patrick: mom I’m gonna pump milk when I get big.
Me: WHAT?!!
Patrick: when I big, I pump milk like you!
Me: no buddy, you can’t pump milk.
Patrick: ohhhhh, when I big I can though!
Me: no, only girls can pump milk.
Patrick: ohhhh…but I want to pump milk!!!

Patrick: I see dead people.
Me: {gasp} what?!!
Patrick: I see dead people.
Me: where?!!
Patrick: in boxes.

Patrick: {with blanket over his head} I a ghost!
Me: where do ghosts live?
Patrick: in people's houses.

Me: Patrick! Look! Grant's Farm! Do you see any animals?!!
Patrick: No.
Me: Not even any squirrels?
Patrick: No.
Me: I ran over a squirrel on my way to work this morning. It was an accident.
Patrick: my daddy, who's a police officer, can help you with your accidents.

Patrick: what time is it and what’s the temperature out?
Me: it’s 11:15 and its about 85 degrees out.
Patrick: Oh. Then it’s time for cookies.

Me: I love you so much Patrick.
Patrick: thank you mommy.
Me: don’t you love me too?
Patrick: I just thanking you for loving me right now.

Me: How was your day at school buddy?
Patrick: Good.
Me: What'd you have for lunch?
Patrick: Grapes and water.
Me: Really?  Your teacher said you had meatloaf!
Patrick: NO! I had grapes and water.  And I fell asleep under the table.

Me: What do you want to be for Halloween buddy?
Patrick: A ghost!
Me: Why a ghost?
Patrick: Cause they live in houses and so do I.

Patrick: {after seeing Papermate Gel Pens commercial} Mommy, you want some gel pens?
Me: No buddy, I don't need any gel pens.  Do you want some?
Patrick: Nope. I can't write.

This and That.

I guess I should have titled this "yet another photo dump post", cause, alas, that's what it is.  Sorry.

I realized there are a ton of pics I haven't shared and/or documented about in a while...and I felt the need to do that, cause #digitalbabybook.

Also!  I am hoping to have another Patrick Tales post soon too cause that kid is freaking hilarious and it's been a hot minute since I blogged all about the funny stuff he's said...so, stay tuned for that.

I put this quick little collage together yesterday after I posted my 16 weeks update and HOLY CATS, this kid has totally popped out in the past few days I think!  I cannot believe the difference from week 15 to 16!  #3 is definitely growing!

Speaking of, I spent my first day at school running to my allergist.  Turns out I have a double ear infection and sinus infection.  GREATTTTTT.  She gave me some antibiotics which aren't really doing much cause I still feel awful, my ears hurt and I can't hear out of them, and I just feel blah.  Which I was just starting to feel normal again because my appetite was coming back (yay!) and the nausea was pretty much gone and BAM!  Now this.  Ugh.  Hope it goes away soon.  #3 seems unaffected because he/she is growing like crazy and giving me cravings for chicken noodle soup from Bread Co...which I treated myself to SOLO (!!!) before picking Patrick up from school on Monday.  Was a rare and welcomed treat, I must say.

Meanwhile, on Monday while Patrick was at school Ro got to hang with aunt Kate and she busted out her headband to keep her locks back and I cannot get over how cute she looks in these pics!  Now if she'd only keep her headbands ON for longer than 10 seconds, that'd be greatttt.

I did snap a selfie with her and her adorable headband when I got home before she yanked it off.  YOLO.

He's such a good poser for pics lately!  Had to snap a pic on his first Monday of school!  He loves school so much, and so do we!

My high school friend Laura, who lives in Iowa but who's parents live not too far from us, text me that she was in town this weekend and asked if we wanted to come over and swim in her parents new pool.  Um, YES PLEASE!  It was so much fun -- Patrick had a blast and Rosie preferred being in her natural eating habitat and playing lifeguard while stuffing her face.

Ro got some new kicks from my mom and we've really been trying to encourage her to walk AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.  I think it's helping, she's been taking a few steps here and there, so I hope and pray walking is right around the corner for her!  Fingers crossed.  She does look so old and grown-up with her new shoes and not her signature barefoot look, doesn't she?!

I had a few photoshoots last weekend and when I imported the pics from my camera I found these two gems that I guess I didn't edit or look at before!  I love finding those kinds of pics...and they must've been from one of Patrick's lake weekends since he wasn't in any of them.

My mother-in-law sent me this from a party they went to over the weekend and I love it so much.  Papa and Patrick matching!  LOVE IT.

The kids (furry and not so much) have an obsession lately with sunglasses!  It.is.awesome.  And I encourage it so much because kids and dogs in sunnies is just the cutest thing in the world.

One of our last days of summer we went to the Museum of Transportation with our buddies the Polans and Patrick INSISTED on dressing like an engineer, so, I obliged.  I mean, if he's not the cutest little engineer you've ever seen, I don't know who is. #SoBiased.

I just can't handle her cuteness sometimes.  And the subtle little thumb sucking on top of that just slays me.

Last week I was mowing our super long but kinda wet lawn and the damn mower kept dying...well, our 85+ year old neighbor took mercy upon me and my struggles and came over and finished mowing our entire yard for me!  How sweet was that?!  Seriously, I love our neighborhood SO MUCH.

We have THREE cars.  And we have car seats for TWO of them.  Well, sometimes we need to drive that third car with the kids, so, alas, we buy more car seats!  Patrick's new seat came yesterday and Ro was testing it out for us.  She totally could fit in it but it's a forward facing only seat so not quite yet is she ready for it...soon though if she keeps growing like she is!

My brothers, kids, Mike and I went to see my grandma the other night.  It was great to talk and catch up with her -- despite how weak she is, her mind is sharp as a tack and she's easy to talk to and remembers most everything...so that's good.  Patrick tried to give her a fist bump but instead just ended up doing some tickly jazz hands instead which was super cute.

Okay!  That's all I've got!  I feel like I've photo dumped you and gotten everything caught up for my loyal 3 readers.  I hope you've enjoyed my ramblings...and now I hope I can REMEMBER and write up some funny Patrick Tales for another post soon.  Stay tuned!
