I.am.so.excited. to finally FINALLY be writing this post. Cause, as of 4pm today, we officially are single homeowners! WOO HOO! Our cute little city house ^^^ has finally sold (after being on the market since June 2014...yikessss!) and I couldn't be happier or more relieved.
Don't get me wrong, I am a wittle sentimental that this was our first house, the house we brought Patrick home to, and now it is gone and no longer ours. However, that sentiment quickly fades knowing that:
- Mike won't have to spend countless hours down there multiple times a week mowing the lawn, fixing random issues, keeping up the inside cleanliness, and so.much.more.
- We don't have to go check on the house just because every so often -- which doesn't sound like much, but when it's 10 miles away from your current home and takes 30+ minutes in any little bit of traffic to just get down there, it actually is
- We no longer own 2 homes and therefore get some much needed cashola back in our pockets for selling this house
- I GET MY MINIVAN!!!
Bye-bye first home, it's been real. You gave us a great run and were a great first home, but I am glad to see you go and hopefully I'll drive by you sometime and wave at you from my minivan that letting you go abled me to buy.
I also want to add on this post that selling a house is quite possibly the worst thing ever. Buying a house was fine, but selling, OMG, holy stress and just complete BS to deal with. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Seriously, without divulging into the massive 23rd hour drama, issues, problems, (pardon my language) complete bullshit we had to deal with the past week, there's nothing that could persuade me more than to stay in our current house forever and ever and never deal with that hassle again. Even if we win the lottery, I don't think that would entice me enough to sell...it is just the worst.
Okay, let's end on a positive note, shall we?! Anyone got any van recommendations?! Cause we officially are in the market for one! HELLLLLLLLOOOOO momvan! I cannot wait to have you! Stay tuned really soon for what we choose to get :)
